The reviews

What customers say when it goes wrong

We collected 1,077 critical reviews across 38 boutiques. From those, we read 298 Hyderabad complaints from 29 boutiques and tagged every one by hand.

Aashas doesn't carry the market's biggest problem. Its one weakness is explaining what the price buys.

"I had my haldi function at 5:30 pm n they delivered the dress at 11:00 pm."

One of 27 complaints that name the occasion

"If you took measurements then the garment should fit – not take 4 trials."

57 of 89 custom complaints describe more than one failure

"Go there only if your budget is 2 lakh plus… otherwise the staff is unwilling to entertain you."

      Chapter two of thirteen

      What it told us

Six things stood out. Everything that follows is built on them.

      i

Aashas is strong where it counts, and hard to find where people look.

4.7 stars, and none of the market's top complaint. But outside the top three in Maps, and missing from half saree, blouse, kids' and menswear searches.

      ii

Customers can see the quality. They can't see what the price buys.

Six of seven detailed critical reviews say "expensive for what you get", often while praising the work. The answer is to show what goes into each piece.

      iii

The industry keeps failing in the same places.

Fit, lateness, fixes that never come, and how people are treated. Aashas already solves these, and every one is a question customers are asking.

      iv

At Aashas's level, a designer's judgement is the premium signal.

The boutiques winning "premium" searches look affordable. Most boutiques at Aashas's level carry their designer's name. Customers pay for someone's eye.

      v

People browse on Instagram and buy nearby.

Design browsing has moved to Instagram. Google is where people find a service near them. And they type craft words, not "premium".

      vi

Word of mouth is still the strongest force.

In WedMeGood's survey of more than 3,500 couples, friends' weddings shaped choices most, with social media second. The best content will work like word of mouth.

      03

      Chapter three of thirteen

      The direction

Who Aashas is for, what it stands for, and how it looks and speaks.

      The audience

      Who Aashas is for

      Who
Telugu families in Hyderabad: business owners, doctors and senior professionals. Typically families who drive cars worth ₹40–80 lakh.
      Occasions
Parents aged 25–55, dressing for weddings, children's milestones and festivals.
      What they spend
About ₹60,000–90,000 on a lehenga. They pay for quality, but not couture prices of ₹2–3 lakh a piece.
      What they value
Guidance from someone they trust, a fit that's right first time, finish they can feel, calm service, looking right in the photos.
      What they fear
Being rushed or judged, a fit that never comes right, an outfit late for the day.
      Where they are
Instagram, following wedding photographers, make-up artists and Hyderabad lifestyle pages. YouTube. WhatsApp family groups. Facebook for parents.
      What turns them off
Loud offers, sale posts, price-shouting, cluttered videos, the same video every day.
      Not for
The couture buyer, and the shopper chasing the lowest stitching price.

LaterTelugu families abroad. Twelve complaints in the market came from customers ordering from abroad: unanswered WhatsApp messages, colours unlike the photos, long waits. An open need, after the first six months.

      The position

For Telugu families who want every celebration to feel special, Aashas is the designer house that takes care of it all. We help you decide what suits you, design it with you, and fit and finish it so well that it feels made for you, because it is.

In one lineThe designer house for Telugu celebrations.

It leads with what Aashas wins on

Guidance, fit and finish. The things customers come back for.

      Broad, without being vague

"Every occasion" is what every boutique says. A specific promise makes the breadth believable.

      "Telugu" is the edge

The occasions, the rituals and the craft words belong to this audience. National labels and marketplaces can't own them.

      A story told over years

A first-birthday outfit, then a half-saree function, then the wedding. The relationship you're proudest of.

      The Aashas standard

What every customer can count on

Three promises lead every piece of content. Three more support them. Each one answers something this market regularly gets wrong.

      Promise one

      Designed with you

Come in unsure, leave with a design you love. We guide you on what suits you, your jewellery and your occasion.

Answers "not what we agreed", and not knowing what to choose.

      Promise two

      Fitted to you

Fitted for how you'll sit, move and celebrate, through every ritual. Right by the final fitting, not the fourth.

Answers fit, the biggest failure in custom orders.

      Promise three

      Finished right

Finish you can see up close and feel all day: the inside, the edges, the handwork.

Answers "expensive for what you get".

      Ready before your day

A clear timeline from the first conversation, with a buffer before the event.

Answers late outfits, often on the day.
      Welcomed, never judged

The same calm welcome, whatever the budget.

      Answers the market's top complaint.
      One house for the family

Bride, groom, parents and children, designed to belong together.

Answers juggling several boutiques for one wedding.

      Just as important

      What Aashas is not

Saying no is what keeps a position clear.

      Couture-priced

Designer and custom, within reach. Not the ₹2–3 lakh couture tier.

      A tailor

Designed, not just stitched. Never "stitching charges".

      A discount store

Sales become a private preview for past customers on WhatsApp.

      One category

Every celebration. Not only bridal, not only for women, not a kids' shop, not a blouse shop.

      Chapter four of thirteen

What works on social media, for a brand like Aashas

What the platforms reward, what research says about premium audiences, and what designer brands do well.

      In short

      What brings affluent families in

      1. Expertise that helps them decideGuidance, not offers.
      2. Craft shown up closeNot claimed in a caption.
      3. People like themIn moments like theirs.
      4. RestraintCalm pacing, one consistent look, room to breathe.
      5. Service they can seeThe consultation, the fittings, the care.
      05

      Chapter five of thirteen

How we will shoot, and why it's different

The audience notices quality. The content has to look like the work.

      The usual boutique video

      • One phone on a tripod
      • A blouse held up to camera
      • Price stickers, "DM for price"
      • Trending audio
      • The same angle, every day

It does get views. That's the problem.

Instagram shows content to people like the ones who engage with it. Content made for bargain browsers finds more bargain browsers, and teaches them to judge Aashas on price. Content that looks like the work finds the people who value the work.

      06

      Chapter six of thirteen

      The content system

Content has two jobs. Most boutiques only do one of them.

      Job one

      Reach: bring in new people

      Who sees it
People who have never heard of Aashas
      What it does
Helps, guides, explains, invites them to join in
      Success
Sends, saves, watch time, new followers

      Job two

      Trust: turn interest into visits

      Who sees it
People who follow, have visited or were referred
      What it does
Shows the work, the process, the stories, the families
      Success
      Profile visits, WhatsApp chats, appointments
And a light third layer: invitation.Book a consultation, a new collection, a festive preview on WhatsApp.

Showing the work, the story behind a piece and reviews all build trust. But they mostly reach people who already know you. To grow, Aashas also needs content strangers want to watch, save and send.

      ReachTrustBoth

The heart of the reach content

Content is planned month by month, around the peaks: weddings, festivals and children's milestones.

This Diwali is too close to plan and shoot properly. So we start with what's next: the wedding season after Sankranthi.

Families book weeks before a wedding, so wedding content goes live in December, early enough to be found. From then on, every peak gets its content ahead of time, and next year's October, the peak month for every line, is planned in full.

      What we will adjust together

Some of the most important changes happen at the counter, not on screen.

The occasion date comes first in every conversation, so every timeline works back from it.
Brides come six to eight weeks ahead, not four to five.
A design sign-off before work starts: sketch, swatch and sample, approved in daylight.
A clear alteration promise, so "what if it still doesn't fit?" has an answer.
"Starting from" prices for each line, ready to share.
Sales become a private WhatsApp preview for past customers.
The review habit: asked at handover and on WhatsApp, naming the occasion.
Two counter questions daily: "How did you hear about us?" and "Where else did you look?"
Consent made simple for customers and karigars on camera.
Shoot days planned around the shop, so no one's work is disturbed.

Which level feels right, and the six-month amount you have in mind for production and media.
